Angle and Straight Through Valves

Valves are used on all types of vacuum equipment. They are available in many different sizes and styles with a wide variety of specifications, to suit all applications.

There are several different types of material used to make the seal in vacuum valves, and these materials are used to provide a range of operational and lifetime properties.

At VG Scienta we produce a wide variety of valves that can be divided into the following categories.

HV Valve Range

With high energy efficiency and low maintenance costs the new High Vacuum valve series is the economical choice for HV applications. The series, which includes manually, pneumatically and electromagnetically operated valves offers an extremely compact body design, which is available in both angle and in-line versions.

Right Angled Valves

This group can be subdivided into two basic valve types; right angled all metal valves and the right angled elastomer sealed valves. The all metal valve uses the elastic deformation of a softer metal pad by a hard metal seat to make the seal. The elastomer sealed valve uses the elastic properties of a range of elastomers such as Viton®, Chemraz® or PTFE, to make the seal.

The choice of materials is dependent on the bakeout temperature, operating environment, lifetime and pressure requirements.

Gas Handling Valves

Used where small dead volumes within the valve are an advantage, these valves are high quality stainless steel-bodied units available with all metal or elastomer seals in a right angled configuration. The valves can be supplied with a range of different flange options, or are available with weld tubes for direct integration into your pipework.

Leak Valves

This range of valves follows the right angled all metal configuration and is used for gas introduction and pressure control in the vacuum system. With high accuracy control across a wide range of pressures, these valves are a natural choice where process control is a requirement. The VG Scienta range of high precision leak valves can be motorised in order to provide fully automated pressure control, when used in conjunction with a pressure measurement device.

VG Scienta are happy to advise you on the type of valve suited to your specific application.
