R4000

The Scienta R4000 is a 200 mm mean radius spectrometer and the best performing hemispherical electron analyzer ever built. It has the advantages of it’s predecessors along with new features such as improved ultra stable electronics and a wide angle lens (R4000WAL models) allowing powerful and fast ARPES measurements. The R4000 covers a wide range of kinetic energies and working pressures and is the most flexible electron analysis tool on the market. The R4000 models are divided into three groups based on lens type:
R4000WAL
The Wide Angle Lens (WAL) features a 38 degree acceptance angle for high transmission measurement and fast ARPES bandmapping. It is offered in a variety of models ranging from high resolution ARPES to high transmission XPS. The wide angle lens allows ±15 degrees angle resolved electron spectroscopy. On to product page
R4000 Lens 1
Up to 10 keV and up to 20 mbar ambient pressure measurements is supported by the R4000 Lens 1. The robust design of the R4000 Lens 1 models permit a wide range of measurements, in a wide range of conditions: Up to 10 keV kinetic energy and up to 20 mbar ambient pressure. It also provides possibilities for angular resolved electron spectroscopy. On to product page
R4000 HiPP Ambient Pressure
The VG Scienta HiPP (High Pressure PES) series includes a R4000 with extra differential pumping on the electron lens and a pre-lens set-up with active electron optics and efficient differential pumping. Also the analysis chamber is designed for optimal pumping in combination with the pre-lens. The combination of these three HiPP components allow PES measurements in up to 20 mbar ambient pressure. R4000 Lens 2
Spectromicroscopy/XPS Imaging as well as angle resolved measurements are possible with the R4000 Lens 2 models. Better than 10 micrometer spatial resolution is possible in combination with the proven high resolution of the R4000 spectrometer series. Models are offered featuring lens tables and electronics for XPS/UPS/ARPES and spectromicroscopy with different degrees of magnification. On to product page
R4000 Detector options
The R4000 is highly modular and can be equipped with a number of different detectors to meet the demands of the evolving photoemission field. The R4000 spectometers are delivered with a MCP/CCD detector as a standard. Other choices and upgrades include a spin detector which also features a MCD/CCD detector, a delay-line detector for time resolved studies, and a gated detector for detection controlled via an external signal.
